Alton Cornia, loving father, grandfather, friend and neighbor, died January 25, 1996.

He was born October 11, 1906 in Woodruff, Utah to John Melvin and Mary Hannah Dean Cornia. He married LaVella Cox, June 9, 1933 in Woodruff, Utah, later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died October 20, 1960. He married Mary A. Murphy 1962, later divorced.He was an active member of the LDS Church and served as a High Priest.

Survived by five children, Mrs. Lamont (Neta) Thaxton, Sandy; Mrs. Wayne (Eileen) Burton, West Chester, Pennsylvania; Mr. Charles (Laverne) Cornia, Jacksonville, Ar.; Mrs. Marvin (Dixie) Morton, South Jordan; Mrs. Robert (Carol Lee) Johnson, West Valley; 23 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, brother, Theris Cornia, Woodruff.

The family expresses thanks to the many people who provided loving care.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 31, 11 a.m., Crescent 7th Ward, 949 East 10600 So. Friends may call Tuesday 7-9 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful and one hour prior to services. Interment, Lake Hills Memorial Park, Sandy.
