Jonathan Swapp, convicted on state and federal charges for his part in a church bombing and 13-day standoff in 1988, was moved Friday from a federal prison in Phoenix to the Summit County Jail in Coalville.
Swapp, 29, has fulfilled his federal sentence for bombing an LDS Chapel and was moved back to Utah to fulfill his one-year sentence for negligent homicide in connection with the death of Utah corrections officer Lt. Fred House. House was shot and killed at the end of the standoff with federal and state law officers.Swapp's brother, Addam, and Vicki Singer, Addam's mother-in-law, also were charged and sentenced in the incidents that began with the bombing of the Kamas Stake Center on Jan 16, 1988. Vickie Singer served time and was released. Addam Swapp is serving time in a federal prison.
Swapp will most likely be released in less than seven months, said Summit County Sheriff Fred Eley.
"We've all really forgotten about Jonathon," Eley said.
