Studio executives were nervous about casting singer Courtney Love in "The People vs. Larry Flynt," especially after she admitted taking heroin while she was pregnant.
Columbia Pictures demanded that Love, the lead singer of Hole and the widow of Nirvana's Kurt Cobain, take drug tests during the filming, Love says in Monday's editions of USA Today."I almost didn't do the film," she said.
But then Love, whose husband committed suicide in 1994, decided she did have some responsibility for her "dangerous" reputation.
"So I figured if I do it this once, I'll never have to do it again," she said.
