Gary Lee Nordstrom, age 63, of Rigby, Idaho died Friday, December 6, 1996 at Columbia Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Gary was born August 24, 1933 at Fairview, Utah to Martin Leland and Louise Thomas Nordstrom. He attended school at Fairview Elementary in Fairview, Utah, Springville, Utah, and graduated from Spanish Fork High School. He attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah graduating with his bachelors degree in animal husbandry.He served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict. He married Ruth Marie Stringam at Cardston, Alberta Canada on July 24, 1957 at the Cardston Alberta LDS Temple. He has lived in Rigby, Idaho since 1972. Prior to that he lived in Gooding, Idaho, Carey, Idaho and Provo, Utah.

He worked for Kraft Foods as a Dairy Farm Specialist, and was innovative in beginning a successful world wide feed program for dairy animals, winning Kraft Foods' highest recognition award for his efforts. Gary was a High Priest in the LDS Church where he had served as the High Priest Group Leader and at other callings. He enjoyed horses, cattle, farming, hunting, horse pack trips, being in the outdoors, and with his family.

Survivors are: wife, Ruth Marie Stringam Nordstrom, Rigby, Idaho; two daughters: Mrs. Steve (Cathryn Marie) Radford, Kennewick, Washington; Colette LaNae Nordstrom, Salt Lake City; two sons: Bart A. Nordstrom, Provo, Utah; Gary Layne Nordstrom, Nampa, Idaho; mother: Louise Thomas Nordstrom, Spanish Fork, Utah; three sisters: Mrs. Jack (Mildred) Roberts, Spanish Fork, Utah; Patricia Nordstrom Heaton, Provo, Utah; Mrs. Robert (Stephanie) Christensen, Spanish Fork, Utah; one brother: Stephen Nordstrom, Spokane, Washington; 15 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Jeff Nordstrom; and his father.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 10, 1996 at 1 p.m. at the Rigby East Stake Center with Bishop Blake Manwaring conducting. The family will meet with friends, Monday night from 7-8:30 p.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby, Idaho, and on Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the Rigby East Stake Center. Interment will be at the Fairview Cemetery in Fairview, Utah on Wednesday, December 11, 1996 at 12 noon.
