Lenny Wilkens, already the winningest coach in NBA history, reached another milestone Friday night by getting his 1,000th victory as the Atlanta Hawks defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers 74-68.
Craig Ehlo sealed it with a 3-pointer with 42.1 seconds remaining to give Atlanta a 71-62 lead. Wilkens now has a coaching record of 1,000-838 in his 23-year career.The Hawks took over in the third quarter, limiting Cleveland to 3-of-17 shooting from the field and just 8 points, tying a Hawks record for fewest points by an opponent in a 12-minute period. The Cavaliers finished just 26-of-74 for 35 percent.
The Hawks, who shot only 36 percent, were led by Mookie Blaylock with 18 points and Steve Smith with 15.
Bulls 110, Warriors 87
At Chicago, Scottie Pippen, shaking off a shooting slump, scored 25 points and Toni Kukoc added 23 as the Chicago Bulls made it 27-0 at home this season.
Michael Jordan scored 17 for Chicago but left the game with 7:10 remaining after bruising his left knee and his left elbow when he crashed hard to the floor while fighting for a rebound. Jordan went to the bench to ice his injuries, which did not appear serious. The Bulls led by 22 at the time.

At Boston, Shawn Kemp had nine points and seven rebounds before leaving with a sprained foot after 11 minutes and Seattle still won its 12th consecutive game.
Kemp did not return, and the NBA's hottest team didn't need him. Gary Payton and Detlef Schrempf scored 21 points each and Hersey Hawkins 20. Seattle has won 18 of its last 19 games.

At Miami, Rumeal Robinson, starting again in place of suspended Rod Strickland, had 20 points and six assists to lead Portland over Miami.
Timberwolves 105, Hornets 101
At Minneapolis, Minnesota had the biggest comeback in its 61/2-year history, rallying from 25 points down to beat Charlotte. It was the largest blown lead in the Hornets' 71/2-year history.

At Vancouver, British Columbia, the Dallas Mavericks set another NBA 3-point record Friday night, attempting 44 shots from behind the arc.

At Phoenix, journeyman Michael Curry had five of his career-high 17 points in the final 42 seconds.
Lakers 100, Bullets 95
At Inglewood, Calif., the Los Angeles Lakers, bolstered by the return of Magic Johnson and Nick Van Exel from injuries, used 27 points from Cedric Ceballos to beat the injury-riddled Washington Bullets. It was Los Angeles' 19th victory in 22 games.
