Cyril Poppleton Maughan, 89, died Thursday, March 7, 1996 in Brigham City, Utah.

He was born April 29, 1906 in Wellsville, Utah, the son of Guy Heber Hill Maughan and Emma Riggs Poppleton Maughan. He served an LDS mission to England and then graduated from Utah State Agriculture College. On November 12, 1930 he married Lucretia Evelyn Fish. She died May 25, 1993. He was a public health technician for the State of Idaho until he retired. Preceding him in death were two sons, William Jay and Cyril Newell F. Maughan. He was a member of the Preston 5th Ward High Priest Quorum at the time of his death.He is survived by two daughters and a son: Patricia Kleinkopf, Twin Falls, Idaho; Judith Ann Jones, Willard, Utah; Edwin Neil F. Maughan, Farmington, Utah; 30 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Monday, March 11, 1996 at 12 noon in the Wellsville Stake Center, 30 So. Center. Friends may call at the Webb Funeral Home, 109 East Oneida, Preston, Idaho on Sunday, March 10, from 6-8 p.m. and at the stake center Monday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Wellsville Cemetery.
