Mazie Felsch DeSanto, our mother, grandmother, and best friend died on Good Friday, April 5, 1996, of cancer.

Mazie was born on October 13, 1920 in Rochester, Pennsylvania. Preceded in death by her parents, Fred B. Felsch and Estella Felsch.She served in the U.S. Army at ASF Regional Station Hospital at Camp Crowder, Missouri. During this time she fell in love and married Matthew F. DeSanto. After their discharge from the Army, Mazie and Matt lived in Salt Lake City where together they owned Taylor Boston Jewelers. Matt died on October 11, 1980.

Survived by son, Fred (Donna) DeSanto; daughter, Diane Bakke (Alan); grandchildren: Marie James; Cindy Calder; Amy Bodnar; Matthew Bakke; Thomas Bakke; and Nita Bakke; great-grandchildren: Austin James and Jeremy Calder; sister, Gertrude Anthony; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tom and Helen DeSanto.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday April 10, 1996 in the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 3401 South Highland Drive, where Friends may call on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. prior to services. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.

Our special gratitude to mom's wonderful friends, Pastor Steve Klemz, Dr. Mary Jane Norman, Barbara and Pamela of Community Nursing Services and the staff at St. Joseph Villa for their care, love, and support. In lieu of flowers, a gift to Zion Lutheran Church or St Joseph's Villa in memory of Mazie would be cherished.
