Time magazine says Courtney Love is one of America's most influential people. Her old school still isn't impressed.
"It would be fair to say we didn't know of her existence until her rise to fame," said Alison McAlpine, principal of Nelson College for Girls, one of New Zealand's most prestigious schools.Love, lead singer of the band Hole, was a live-in student at Nelson College when she and her mother lived in New Zealand during the 1970s.
Don't expect her at any class reunions. At a 1995 concert in New Zealand, Love told the audience that her time at the school had "screwed her up."
Likewise, McAlpine said: "We've been embarrassed by her in the last little while."
