Murphy's Law and H20 will bring their distinctively different styles of hard-core punk-rock to Northstar Pavilion (formerly the Cinema Bar at Spanky's), 45 W. 300 South, on Wednesday, Aug. 14.
H20's self-titled debut album features melodic and positive hard-core similar to fellow New Yorkers CIV and Sick of It All, as well as guest appearances by members of Madball, Murphy's Law and the Mighty Mighty Bosstones. One of the longest-lived members of New York's hard-core scene, Murphy's Law's new CD, "Dedicated," is a tribute to long-time bass guitarist Chuck Valle, who was murdered in 1994. Unlike most serious hard-core acts, though, songs like "Dysfunctional Family" and "Bag of Snacks" are decidedly tongue-in-cheek. The all-ages concert will start at 8 p.m.
