The Nephi City Council has agreed to allow the Juab School District to construct an access road into the new high school during the construction phase of the project.

"They want us to allow them to commence prior to the approval of the subdivision plat for the area containing the road," said Mayor Robert Steele. The road would be built from 800 East into the high school prior to the Lynnwood Subdivision second phase approval. When the Lynnwood Subdivision was approved by the City Council it was agreed the subdivision would be approved in stages.

"The school district agreed their access will be a private road and will be maintained by the school district," said Randy McKnight, city administrator. The roadway, for the portion that would be city property, will also be constructed by the school district.

Construction of the roadway this year is a safety issue. Since the roadway into the rear of the present high school and the roadway into the construction site are the same, construction equipment could prove a danger.
