Gertrude Irene Rust was born to Della Butler Moore in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was called to join her Heavenly Father, Saturday, September 21, 1996 in Murray, Utah.

She was the former deputy sheriff, San Bernardino County, California. A resident of Pinetop and Phoenix, Arizona for many years, where she gained fame and renown as a western artist. She was preceded in death by her husband, Grover G. Whitt. She is survived by her loving son, Patrick Whitt and his wife, Lynne of Murray; two grandchildren, Cammi Dee Shellow, Las Vegas, Nev.; and Phillip Whitt, Dallas, Texas; and great-grandchildren, Micheal and Candice Shellow, Las Vegas, Nev.; two sisters, Anna Vance, California; and Maxine Friend, Colorado. She was a gifted artist and musician and was also an ordained minister of the Foursquare Church, and was a graduate of L.I.F.E. Bible College in 1954. She was loved and will be missed by all who knew her.Graveside services will be held Thursday, 11 a.m., at the Murray City Cemetery, 5600 South Vine Street, Murray, Utah.
