A. The Olympic volleyball champion and her husband, Steve Timmons, are first-time parents. Spencer Schae Timmons, a girl, was born Dec. 2.Q. What's become of the cast of "The Dukes of Hazzard"? I know Sorrell Booke (Boss Hogg) died a while back, but what's the rest of the cast doing? - M.M., Eden, N.Y.

A. Most of the cast is hard at work on the series' first reunion show. John Schneider, Tom Wopat and Catherine Bach reprise their roles as cousins Bo, Luke and Daisy Duke. Others returning are Denver Pyle, James Best, Sonny Shroyer, Ben Jones and narrator Waylon Jennings, who'll have an on-camera role this time. And the souped-up Dodge Charger, the General Lee, will figure prominently in the new two-hour movie, which will air in 1997 on CBS.

Q. I watched the CBS miniseries "In Cold Blood" and couldn't stop wondering where I'd seen Kevin Tighe. He played the father of the Cutter family. - E.C., Plano, Texas

A. In the first year of ABC's "Murder One," Tighe played David Blalock. In the 1970s, he was paramedic Roy DeSoto on "Emergency."

Q. Please tell me a little about Chad Lowe, the actor who was mesmerizing on TV's "Life Goes On." - S.C., Syracuse, N.Y.

A. The younger brother of actor Rob Lowe, Chad started his acting career in 1985 with his own TV show, Spencer. He quit after one season, but returned to series TV in 1991 playing HIV-positive high school student Jesse McKenna in the acclaimed "Life Goes On." Most recently, he joined the cast of "Melrose Place" as Carter Gallaven. He celebrates his 29th birthday on Jan. 15.

Q. I watched the Dec. 4 "Wings" episode about Helen and Joe's crazy neighbors. I know the male neighbor used to be on "Saturday Night Live," but I can't place the female neighbor. - C.V., Palmetto, Fla

A. That was funnyman Chris Elliott and Kelly Coffield, a former "Fly Girl" dancer on In Living Color.

Q. Crook and Chase have a syndicated show but we can't find it in any of our TV listings. What network carries it? -B.O., Wichita, Kan.

A. Lorianne Crook and Charlie Chase, former hosts of country-music talk shows on TNN, host a talk show that is seen in many TV markets. But because the daily program is syndicated, you must check your local listings to determine the channel, time and availability in your area.

Q. I am a fan of "In the Heat of the Night." Recently, I saw "dedicated to the memory of Howard Rollins" in the final credits. What happened to him? He was great as Det. Virgil Tibbs. - D.J.F., Lafayette, Colo.

A. A gifted actor ("Ragtime," "A Soldier's Story" and the recent holiday special "Harambee!"), Rollins, 46, died Dec. 8 in a New York hospital. Doctors declined to release the cause of his death, but a publicist later said his death was a result of lymphoma. Rollins battled a substance abuse problem for many years. He was fired from the "In the Heat of the Night" series in 1993 after several arrests for drug-related incidents.

Q. A group of us at work has been trying to remember the dog's name on "Petticoat Junction." We've asked everyone we know and can't seem to find out. Does anyone know? - J.H., Dallas, Texas

A. Boy was the moniker of the Bradley family dog on the 1963-1970 rural comedy series.

Q. In the 1950s, or early '60s, a TV series called "The Silent Service" was on TV. Approximately 50 episodes were shown giving the history of the U.S. Naval Submarine force during World War II. Members of the U.S. Submarine Veterans are trying to locate copies of these shows. Do you know if they ever will be rerun on TV, or can copies by purchased? - C.S., Portland, Ore.

A. The 1957-58 anthology series, hosted each week by Rear Admiral Thomas Dykers, U.S.N. (ret.), featured based-on-fact dramatizations of the exploits of U.S. submariners using footage from World War II and the Korean War. Q. My husband and I have been racking our brains trying to remember the name of a series that was a spinoff of "Dynasty." Charlton Heston was the family patriarch, Barbara Stanwyck the mother. Was it "The Colbys of California?" - M.E.J., Mesquite, Texas

A. The 1985-87 "Dynasty" spinoff was initially titled "Dynasty II: The Colbys." But after a few weeks, the name was shortened to "The Colbys." Heston was patriarch Jason Colby, but Stanwyck played his sister, Constance Colby. She left the series after the first season because of her failing health.
