Jody R. Mahon was found in his home, the victim of an apparent heart attack, on Tuesday December 16, 1997.
He was born in Augusta, Maine on May 19, 1969 the son of Duane and Judith (Braley) Mahon. He was a graduate of Cony High School class of 1987 and the University of Maine in Orono, class of 1993, receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering.Mr. Mahon was employed by Macrotech Polyseal for the last three years.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Augusta, ME, the President of the Utah Chapter American Society of Mechanical Engineers, a former member of the Sharpies Cossack Drill Team, of Augusta, ME, a member of Residents on Campus while at Orono, a Eucharistic Minister while at Orono and a member of the Colombian Squires of Augusta, ME.
He is survived by his wife, Laura (Sawyer) Mahon of Biddeford, ME; a daughter, Jayden Mahon of Biddeford, ME; his parents, Duane and Judith Mahon of South China, ME; a paternal grandmother, Winifred Mahon of Carmel, ME; a brother, Christian Mahon of Biddeford, ME; a sister, Melissa Feener of Brunswick, NY; three nieces, Karyn Lynn Feener, Danna Elizabeth Sawyer and Shayna Michelle Sawyer; his best friends, John Dickens of Winooski, VT and Joel Garris of Arlington, VA; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Relatives and friends may visit Monday, December 22nd from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta, ME, where a memorial service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. A local memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 20th at 10 a.m. at the Christ United Methodist Church, 2375 East, 3300 South, Salt Lake City.
Burial will be in the spring in the family lot at Dixmont Corner Cemetery, Dixmont, ME.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Mahon's name may be made to the American Heart Association, Maine Affiliate, Inc., P.O. Box 346, Augusta, Maine, 04330-0346.
