Robert James Koser, age 74, died on February 2, 1997 peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born May 30, 1922 in Elyria, Ohio. Son of Clayton B. Koser and Ella Nora Wilt. Married Ellen Wood July 14, 1944. Later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.He was educated in upstate New York schools where the parents moved when he was a boy. In 1942 he was drafted into the Army Air Force and served 37 months. He moved to Plymouth, Ohio in 1946 with his wife and received his degree as a master Baker. He also worked with his brothers in the grocery business. Managed a restaurant in New Washington, Ohio. After moving to Salt Lake City in 1953, he worked as a bakery manager for Warshaw, May Fair, and Smith's.
He joined the LDS church January 1972. Worked 20 years for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in the bishopric, High Priest Group leader, Young Men's president, Sunday School counselor, home teacher, and various church callings. He served one Salt Lake Park Stake mission with his wife and they were currently serving a second.
His family was his pride and joy. His most prized possessions were his family and the gospel teachings from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
His love for the gospel was without measure which was emulated by his actions.
His love reached out to everyone and his wonderful example will always be remembered. His sweet spirit will be missed by everyone. He touched so many lives. We love you.

Survived by his wife; three daughters, Bonnie (Mike) Natalie, Dixie (Doug) Stensrud, Jeanette (Roy) Glazier; four sisters, Betty Olson, Erie, Pennsylvania, Phyllis McIntyre, Falconer, N.Y., Lillian Dunn, Florida, and Lenore Wilkens, Wauneta, Nebraska; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers, Harry, Arlyn, Charles, Clifford, Roy, Frank, and Alvin Koser, and one sister Beatrice Nary.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 6, 1997, 12 Noon, at the Salt Lake 1st Ward, 760 East 700 South. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, and at the ward Thursday one hour prior to services.
Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
