A Bountiful mother and her toddler child were killed and her husband and son critically injured Monday when the vehicle they were riding in rolled a half dozen times just north of here.
Killed were:Tamara S. Olsen, 31, Bountiful.
Griffin Olsen, 14 months, Bountiful.
The Olsen family was traveling north on I-15 about 2:45 p.m. when the accident occurred, the Utah Highway Patrol reported from its Cedar City office.
Driver Jeffrey C. Olsen, 33, apparently fell asleep and the vehicle drifted off the right shoulder, the UHP reported. When the man awoke, he over-corrected and the vehicle rolled six or seven times.
The infant was ejected and his mother was extricated from the wreckage, the UHP reported. Jeffrey Olsen was critically injured and was taken to LDS Hospital, where he was in critical condition Tuesday. His son, Spencer, 7, was in critical but stable condition at Primary Children's Medical Center.
Only the parents were wearing seat belts, the UHP reported.
