Utah Department of Investigations officers have seized 10 kegs near the Utah-Wyoming border since Tuesday.

Most of those transporting the beer kegs from Evanston, Wyo., have been juveniles, said Department of Investigation Lt. Mitch Ingersoll.Kegs are illegal in Utah.

Officers in the state's Liquor Enforcement Division scout Evanston liquor stores looking for vehicles with Utah plates. When they see Utahns packing kegs into vehicles, they follow and pull them over once they cross back into Utah, Ingersoll said.

The offenders are cited and released. The kegs are confiscated.

Though the target is teens, the squad will cite anyone bringing illegal alcohol into the state, Ingersoll said.
