Zions Bancorp. has completed its previously announced acquisition of Idaho-based Tri-State Bank and changed its name to Zions Bank.

The former Tri-State, with assets of $24 million, has branches in Montpelier and Paris, Idaho.Zions Bancorp. president and CEO Harris Simmons said the acquisition extends Zions' operations in southeastern Idaho.

Further expansion into the state by Zions will occur July 21 when 10 existing Wells Fargo branches and two new Zions branches located in Smith's Food and Drug Stores also will open in Idaho.

Simmons said management of the former Tri-State branches will remain unchanged.
