Former President Jimmy Carter wore a special shirt to record his latest book.

At Doppler Studios, he read "Sources of Strength" wearing soft knit cotton so the microphone wouldn't pick up the scratchy sounds of fabric as he turned the pages. The book is due out this fall from Times Books and Random House AudioBooks. Carter left for a week in Ethiopia after the recording session Wednesday in Atlanta.

The book is based on Sunday school lessons he teaches at Maranatha Baptist Church in Plains. It's a companion to last year's bestseller, "Living Faith."
