Elaine Corbridge Chase, 83, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 1998 in St. George, Utah.
She was born on August 26, 1914 in Logan, Utah, a daughter of William Edward and Edith Mary Tarleton Corbridge. She married Don E. Chase on October 22, 1936 in the Logan LDS Temple. He passed away on July 4, 1994. Elaine was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving as a Relief Society visiting teacher, a Primary teacher and MIA teacher. She also served on the Primary Stake Board. She was a Charter member of the Civic Improvement Club and a member of the D.U.P. With her husband, Don, she owned and operated Chase Firestone and Chase Texaco Service in Brigham City. She had been employed at the Internal Revenue Service in Ogden and had worked in retail in Logan before moving to Brigham City in 1943. She was a loving mother, grandma, great-grandma, and friend. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends who were very important to her.Survivors include her daughter, Catherine (Terry) Dallin of Coalville, Utah; her son, Steven D. (Clara) Chase of San Jose, California; five grandchildren, David L. (Tamara) Dallin of Syracuse, Utah; Robert D. (Natalie) Dallin of Logan, Utah; Rebecca (Larry) Smith of Thornton, Colorado; Steven B. (Bridgit) Dallin of Henefer, Utah; Christina M. Chase of San Jose, California; and seven great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one sister, Fern C. Ritchie, and one grandchild, Michael T. Dallin.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, January 23, 1998, 11 a.m. at the Brigham City 3rd Ward Chapel, 210 West 200 North. Friends may call at the Petersen Funeral Chapel, 634 East 2nd South, Brigham City, Utah, Thursday evening 6-8 p.m., and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Logan City Cemetery.
