A St. Louis Zoo train carrying about 10 passengers went out of control and jumped the tracks Friday, killing the engineer, who was heard yelling that he could not stop the train.

One passenger suffered cuts and bruises. Witnesses said some passengers jumped off when it was about to crash.The engineer, 67-year-old John Forsythe, was thrown from the train. Forsythe worked at the zoo for more than two years and was a locomotive engineer for a conventional railroad for 41 years.
