When BYU linebacker Derik Stevenson went into the crowd following the game to celebrate the victory with his father, he ended up getting more than he bargained for.

A fight broke out between Stevenson's father and a Ute fan. Eyewitnesses said the younger Stevenson jumped into the fray and threw several punches at the fan, although Stevenson denied it afterward.Regardless, the Ute fan came out on the losing end of the fight, with his face bloodied and swollen by the time the fracas had broken up.

U. campus police said they've investigated the incident and taken statements but have no plans to file charges against any of the participants.
