Spencer Clausen Condie, age 88, of Provo, passed away February 8, 1998, at the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center of causes incident to age.
He was born November 26, 1909, in Preston, Idaho, to Gideon and Carrie Clausen Condie. He married Josie Peterson in 1937 in the Logan LDS Temple.Spencer has served as a Bishop, and other Church callings, and for the last 17 years has been a sealer in the Idaho Falls and Provo temples. He worked for 33 years as an Internal Revenue Agent in Preston, Montpelier, and Pocatello, Idaho.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Josie; and 4 children, Elder Spencer J. Condie-a member of the Quorum of the Seventy, serving in England; Sandra C. Of Bountiful; Nancy C. Of Bountiful; and Robert G. Condie of Kirkland, WA; 19 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; a brother, Angus Condie of Preston; sisters, Eileen Stocking of Logan, UT; Zelda Corless of Shelly, ID; and Mary Porter of Preston, ID.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 11, 1998, at 10:00 A.M., in the Grandview 5th Ward LDS Chapel, 1575 North 1350 West, Provo. Friends may call Tuesday evening, from 6-8 P.M., at the Berg Mortuary of Provo, 185 East Center Street, or Wednesday morning, one hour prior to services. Interment, Preston Idaho Cemetery, Wednesday, at 4 p.m.
