Joseph S. Bollinger, Jr. died March 29, 1998.

He was born January 15, 1945, to Betty Burns and Joseph S. Bollinger, Sr., both whom predecease him.He graduated from the University of Utah where he was a member of Beta Theta Pi. Married Susan Ridges on April 25, 1993.

Joe was an energetic man who excelled in tennis, golf, skiing and the joy of life. He packed a whole lot of living into 53 years of life. Always a competitor, he wanted to know the line and usually went with the underdog. At the time of his death, he was owner of Broadway Shoe Rebuilders, a family company started by his grandfather in 1911.

Joe loved the ocean and some of his happiest years were spent in Carmel-By-The-Sea with Susan.

He is survived by his wife, Susan, and his puppies, Muriel and Dominique; a daughter, Brooke Castillo (Chris) of Fort Collins, CO; a son, David Bollinger (Jennifer) of Scottsdale, AZ; sisters, Joan Boru (Kevin), San Francisco, CA; Anne Sears (Rob), Port Townsend, WA; Tina Thatcher (Rick); and brothers, Ron Bollinger (Marci), and Scott Bollinger (Faith), all of Salt Lake City.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 1, at Salt Lake City Cemetery (please enter off of 11th Avenue). Please join us at Joe and Susan's home for a celebration of Joe's life following the services. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to their favorite charity.
