Ruth Keddington Desmond, age 78, passed away July 30, 1998 in her Las Vegas, Nevada home.
One of eight children, Ruth was born in Salt Lake City to the late Alvin and Edith Keddington. She was a virtuoso pianist, organist and talented singer.Ruth attended the University of Utah where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority and numerous musical groups. She left school to pursue a professional singing career and was part of the Bob Crosby Orchestra's quartet known as the Bob-O-Links. It was there she met her future husband, entertainer Johnny Desmond. Johnny predeceased Ruth in 1985.
Surviving are two daughters, Diane Desmond, of Encino, California; and Patricia Desmond Martin, of Plandome, New York; and two grandsons, Robert and Jeffrey Martin. Also surviving are brothers, Lloyd and Neil; and sister, Louise. Brothers, Burt and Ruel; and sister, Lois predeceased Ruth.
A Remembrance Memorial of her life will be held on Saturday, September 5th at 7 p.m. in the Village III Condominium clubhouse located at 15th East and Vine Street (6100 South). Friends and relatives are invited to attend and share special memories.
Burial will be private in the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
