Eight more mission presidents have been called by the First Presidency. The mission presidents and their wives will begin their service about July 1. Their assignments will be announced later. The new mission presidents are:
David A. Christensen, 49, Rexburg 6th Ward, Rexburg Idaho East Stake; high councilor; former general Church curriculum chairman and writer, stake president's counselor, bishop and counselor, Young Men president, Scoutmaster, and missionary in Mexican Mission; religion professor at Ricks College; received associate degree from Ricks College, bachelor's degree in child development and family relations, and master's degree in instructional design from BYU; born in Farmington, N.M., to Vaughn L. and Irene Cardon Christensen; married Deena Bond, eight children. She is Young Women president; former counselor in ward Relief Society presidency, Primary president and teacher, seminary teacher, Sunday School and Relief Society teacher; nurse; received bachelor's degree in nursing from BYU; born in Farmington, N.M., to William Dale and Adelaide Call Bond.Allan T. Clarke, 55, Taylor 3rd Ward, Ogden Utah West Stake; gospel doctrine teacher; former stake president, high councilor, bishop, priests quorum adviser, elders quorum president, and missionary in Sweden; school principal; received bachelor's degree in elementary education from Weber State University, and master's degree in educational administration and administrators endorsement in elementary education from BYU; born in Ogden, Utah, to Thomas Leroy and Eliza J. Smith Clarke; married Shirley Stradling, five children. She is stake family records extraction director; former stake Young Women president and counselor, ward Young Women president and adviser, Primary chorister, and Relief Society homemaking leader; attended Mesa Community College; born in Mesa, Ariz., to Louis Ephraim and Eleanor Nichols Stradling.
Robert P. Haight, 63, Willow Creek 1st Ward, Sandy Utah Willow Creek Stake; temple sealer, high councilor, and teacher of stake temple class; former bishop and counselor, priests quorum adviser, and missionary in the Australian Mission; investment vice president for A.G. Edwards; received business management degree from BYU and attended the University of Utah; born in Salt Lake City to David B. and Ruby Olson Haight; married Dorothy Hurst, three children. She is a Relief Society teacher; former ward Relief Society president, Primary president and teacher, and Young Women teacher; received a teaching certificate from BYU; born in San Jose, Calif., to Donald Bryon and Elba Shaver Sevier Hurst.
Edward A. Heyes, 58, Salt Lake University 2nd Ward, Salt Lake University 4th Stake; bishop; former high councilor, bishop's counselor, member of high priests group leadership, elders quorum president and instructor, Sunday School teacher, Young Men teacher, Primary teacher, mission president's counselor, and missionary in the California Mission; orthopedic surgeon; received bachelor's degree in medical biology and doctor of medicine degrees from the University of Utah, and board certification in orthopedic surgery from Harvard; born in Salt Lake City to Edward and Verna Andersen Heyes; married Jill Hanks, five children. Jay B. Jones, 45, Allen 2nd Ward, McKinney Texas Stake; early-morning seminary teacher; former member of stake Young Men presidency, bishop and counselor, priests quorum and deacons quorum adviser, Scout leader, Single Adult adviser, Sunday School teacher, and missionary in the Brazil South Mission; president of American Equity; received bachelor's degree in finance and business management from BYU; born in Downey, Idaho, to J. Ronald A.
