Byrd Nathan Pearson passed away quietly at his home surrounded by all his family on November 13, 1999 of pancreatic cancer.
He was born on August 1, 1920 in Logan, Utah to Essie Nathan and Ann Bethesda (Kearl) Pearson. He was the second of four sons.Byrd married the love of his life, Edith Joyce Johnson, on December 10, 1948 in Provo, Utah. They made their home in Provo and raised a family of four daughters and one son which were his pride and joy. Joyce passed away November 29, 1990 of pancreatic cancer.
Byrd owned and operated Pearson Cabinet and Supply for 55 years. He was an avid outdoors man and enjoyed fishing and hunting, traveling the world on many hunting expeditions. After graduating from Utah State University in Agriculture, he taught in the industrial arts department before pursuing his career as an independent businessman gaining great recognition for his craftsmanship in the woodworking fields. He was recognized and received many awards including a Distinguished Service Citation by Utah Vocational Association and Craftsman of the Year in 1977 by Governor Matheson. He served as an active member of Provo Chamber of Commerce and Provo Industrial Development Organization. He is a member of the Provo LDS 3 rd

Byrd is known for his quick wit, love of a good joke and entertaining stories. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by daughters, Paulene Roylance of Provo, Bethene (Randy) Jasper of Lindon, Suann (Phil) Adams of Salt Lake City, Edith Pearson of Moab; and a son, Joseph Byrd (Lorie) Pearson of Orem; 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death was his wife, Joyce and grandson, Richard Roylance.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 17, 1999 at the Berg Drawing Room Chapel, 185 East Center Street, Provo at 11 a.m. Friends may call Tuesday evening, November 16 from 6-8 p.m. at the Berg Mortuary, Provo or one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Interment will be at Provo City Cemetery.
