"Together Again"
AMERICAN FORK--Nathan L Vance, age 76, died November 20, 1999, at the American Fork Hospital following a car accident.He was born September 7, 1923, in Delta, Colorado, to John Quincy and Etta May Huffman Vance. Married Vera Oleen Gladden May 28, 1942, in the Mesa, Arizona LDS Temple. She died July 28, 1997.
He was a temple worker in the Mt. Timpanogos LDS Temple, had a mission call in the Bishop's Storehouse, and rendered much service. He loved to talk to people and always had a wave for everyone. He loved gardening, flowers, and was a great woodworker. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, and neighbor.
Survived by six daughters and two sons, Merlo (Ted) Whitehouse, Woodland, UT; Rose Marie (Mike) Razny, Denver, CO.; Carrie Lee (Arthur) Boltz, American Fork, UT; Ruth LaNae (Gordon) Brown, Taylorsville, UT; Ruby LaDean (Mike) Turner; American Fork; Roberta L (Matt) Murdock, American Fork; Nathan Eugene (Laura) Vance, West Jordan, UT; and Kenneth L (Ilene) Vance, Sandy, UT; 81 grand and great-grandchildren; one brother, George Erttle Vance; and two sisters, Edith Ellen Johnson, and Ines Mae Marlow. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a daughter Donna Lousie, and sisters Minnie Marie Snyder, Gladys Vearl Doughty, Ina Mae Hartley, Norma De Lee Gladden, brothers Eugene Vernal Vance, Oran Orval Vance, and Nathaniel Vance.
At Nathan's request, no services will be held. A family viewing will be held Tuesday, November 23, 1999, at 2 p.m. at the Wing Mortuary, 118 East Main, Lehi. The dedication of the grave will be held at the American Fork City Cemetery at 3:30 p.m.
