Knicks 92, Nets 82EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Allan Houston scored 14 of his 24 points in first quarter and came up with a big loose ball in the final two minutes Saturday in leading the New York Knicks to a 92-82 victory over the woeful New Jersey Nets.

Latrell Sprewell added 20 points and Kurt Thomas had 16 points and 11 rebounds as the Knicks won for the fourth time in five games. The Nets have lost five straight and 15 of 17.

Stephon Marbury had 19 points and Jamie Feick grabbed a career-high 23 rebounds for the Nets, who shot only 31 percent from the field.

SUPERSONICS 102, CLIPPERS 89: At Los Angeles, Gary Payton scored 19 points as the Seattle SuperSonics beat the Los Angeles Clippers for the 11th straight time.

Maurice Taylor and Derek Anderson each had 19 points for the Clippers, who have lost five straight overall.

Vin Baker made a short hook shot and Horace Grant added a driving layup and four free throws during an 8-0 run that helped extend Seattle's five-point halftime lead to 75-59 with 5:21 left in the third quarter.

The Sonics used a 7-2 run to take a 92-74 lead early in the fourth quarter, and the Clippers never got closer than 11 points after that.

KINGS 114, WIZARDS 104: At Washington, It was Chris Webber vs. his old team. As usual, Webber was pumped and had a great game: the third triple-double in the NBA this season.

Drawing a large share of cheers from the MCI Center crowd, Webber had 25 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists as Sacramento beat Washington.

Webber has 10 career triple-doubles -- including two this season -- and five of them have come against either Golden State or Washington, the two teams that have traded him.

Mitch Richmond made a feisty run in the first quarter, scoring 15 of Washington's 19 points over one stretch. He finished with 23 to lead his team.

SIXERS 77, CELTICS 74: At Philadelphia, Tyrone Hill had 14 points, including four in the final two minutes, as Philadelphia defeated Boston.

Hill, who also had nine rebounds, scored four straight points after the 76ers had fallen behind by two late in the fourth quarter. He made two free throws with 1:51 left and then sank a jumper from the baseline with 1:08 remaining to give the 76ers a 76-74 lead.

George Lynch had 13 points and nine rebounds for the 76ers, who are 5-2 without star guard Allen Iverson.

Paul Pierce led the Celtics with 22 points, and Tony Battie had 16 points and 15 rebounds for the Celtics, who lost for the fourth time in five games.

HAWKS 112, PISTONS 110: At Atlanta, Jim Jackson scored a season-high 33 points and Isaiah Rider added 30 to lead Atlanta over Detroit. The Hawks' Alan Henderson gave the Pistons a chance to win by throwing an inbounds pass right to Detroit's Grant Hill with 2.8 seconds to play. Hill, who finished with 33 points, dribbled quickly past halfcourt and missed a potential game-winning 3-pointer.

The Hawks won their fourth straight game by making their free throws, finishing 30 of 34. Atlanta scored its last 10 points from the foul line.

MAVERICKS 103, TIMBERWOLVES 84: At Minneapolis, Michael Finley scored 32 points and Cedric Ceballos added 25 as Dallas defeated Minnesota, handing the Timberwolves their biggest loss of the season.

Ceballos added 12 rebounds and Dirk Nowitzki had 19 points for Dallas, which won its second straight game.

Kevin Garnett scored 20 points and Joe Smith added 10 points and 17 rebounds for Minnesota, which shot a season-low 33 percent. The Timberwolves were without starting forward Wally Szczerbiak for the second straight night because of a sore right knee.

ROCKETS 105, SUNS 95: At Houston, Shandon Anderson scored 26 points and Charles Barkley added 21, including 15 in the second half, as Houston ended Phoenix's seven-game winning streak.

The win was only the second in eight home games for the Rockets this season. It was the first time this season that Houston, which beat the Clippers on Thursday, has put together back-to-back victories.

The Suns got 21 points each from Penny Hardaway and Cliff Robinson but committed 20 turnovers that led to 32 Houston points.

BUCKS 92, BULLS 91: At Chicago, Glenn Robinson hit a go-ahead jumper with 13.6 seconds left and Milwaukee survived three Chicago misses just before the buzzer to beat the Bulls.

Chicago, which had rallied from a 17-point deficit in the second quarter, suffered its ninth straight loss and fell to 1-14.
