Four alumni and one honorary alumnus will be recognized Thursday night at the University of Utah's annual Founder's Day Celebration in commemoration of the school's 149th anniversary.

President James E. Faust, Kay Winston Lipman, G. Donald Gale and Pierre Lassonde will be presented with the Distinguished Alumni Awards by the U.'s Alumni Association. Jon M. Huntsman will receive this year's honorary alumnus award.President Faust, second counselor in the First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, earned a bachelor's of arts and a law degree at the U.

Lipman and her husband, Allan, contributed significantly to university programs, including the University Hospital, the College of Health and the Utah Museum of Natural History.

G. Donald Gale is president of Words, Words, Words Inc. For more than 20 years, Gale guided public opinion through his daily editorial comments for KSL radio and television.

Lassonde is president and chief operating officer of Franco-Nevada and Euro-Nevada Mining Corp. Ltd. He is also senior vice president and investment adviser of Beutel, Goodman and Co. .

Huntsman is chairman and chief executive officer of Huntsman Corp. and Huntsman Chemical Corp. Recently, he donated $100 million and raised $51 million to establish and fund the Huntsman Cancer Institute at the U.
