RICHFIELD, Ut.--Loyd Alan Sharp, age 71, passed away Sunday, February 21, 1999 in Richfield, Utah.

He was born March 6, 1927 in Salt Lake City, Utah, son of Alpheus Parley and Norene Baker Sharp. He married Barbara Case of Annabella, April 12, 1948 in the Manti LDS Temple. Loyd was drafted into the military at the age of 18, serving in Italy and Korea. He retired from Georgia Pacific after 34 years of service.Loyd enjoyed life. He loved to hunt, fish and be outdoors. He had a beautiful voice and sang with his wife, Barbara at many church and community functions. He especially enjoyed playing the violin and performing with the orchestra directed by Thelma Compton for many years. He truly loved his children and grandchildren. He was a great example to his family and all who knew him. Loyd was a great missionary, who shared the gospel with many. He spoke often of his desire to serve an LDS mission after his retirement. He was a High Priest in the church, serving in many capacities over the years, being especially diligent in temple service.

He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara of Richfield; children, Bob Alan Sharp of Annabella; Ron and Janice Sharp of Richfield; Kelly and Jean Sharp of Elsinore; Steve and DeLoa Sharp of Bountiful; William and Charmaine Sharp of Castle Dale; Roxane and John Abney of Price; David and Liz Sharp of Vernal; 48 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers and sister, Jerold and Thelma Sharp of Provo; Alphy Sharp of Las Vegas, NV; Thoney Martin Sharp of California; Norma and Fred Penney of Orderville. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Sharp; two grandchildren, Lisa Sharp; and Tyler Sharp; a brother, Bernell Sharp; and his

parents.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 25, 1999 at 12 noon in the Richfield 6th LDS Ward chapel, 190 West 400 North. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home, 260 North 400 West, Richfield, Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and the ward chapel Thursday 10:30 to 11:30 prior to services.

Burial, with military honors accorded by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #5050 will be in the Richfield City Cemetery under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
