Michel Henri Rivetti, 93, died February 26, 1999 of causes incident to old age.

He was born December 17, 1905 in Marseilles, France to Enrico and Modesta Sorbelli Rivetti. Michel was raised in the south of France, where he served in the army of the French Republic before he immigrated to the United States as a young man and settled in the northeast where he began his successful career as a world-class chef. There he married Eleanore Bressan in January of 1930; their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Following a successful career as a chef and restaurateur in Connecticut and Florida, the Rivetti's moved to Utah in 1975, where they became members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which Michel served in a variety of positions, including high priest.Michel is survived by his wife, Eleanore; two sons, Robert (Garda Marie) and George (Mary Beth); former daughter-in-law, Ali Badura; grandchildren, Tom (Vicky), Debbie, Calogero Michel, Steven, Adrienne, and Eileen Rivetti; foster grandson Alex Puglisi (Sandy); great-grandsons, Matthew and Wyatt Rivetti; and numerous step-great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to extend its thanks to the staff of Woodland Park Care Center, to the home nursing staff of Community Nursing Services, particularly Joel Dumond, Tammy Doney, and Eve Martin. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Michel's name to the Community Services Council, 1025 S 700 West, Salt Lake City, 84104.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday March 3, 1999 11 a.m. at the Magna Utah Stake Center, 3084 South 8400 West. Friends may call Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at the Peel Funeral Home, 8525 West 2700 South, Magna, and Wednesday 10-10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment: Pleasant Green Cemetery.
