George John Dernovich, 76, passed away March 30, 1999 at the VA Medical Center, Salt Lake City, Utah.

Born September 21, 1922, Tippary, Iowa to August and Julia Dernovich. Married To Josephine Sergio, later divorced and Eileen Mannix, later divorced.Proudly served his country during World War II in The U.S. Marine Corp. As Staff Sergeant L Company, 3rd Battalion 5th Marines, 1st Division in Guadalcanal, Pelieu and Asian Theater in Okinawa. Career as a salesman for Nabisco, Society Candy and 16 years with Sweets Candy Company, Salt Lake City, Utah. At the time of death George was a resident of Lewistown, Montana for 22 years.

Survived by daughter, Michelle Weyler, Las Vegas, NV; sister, Vera Cooper, Salt Lake City, UT; brothers, August and Frank Dernovich, Rock Springs, Wyoming; sisters, Agnes Griffith, Greenriver, WY; Helen West and Toni Dernovich, Camirro, CA. Preceded in death by daughter, Cheryl A. Hammar.

The family wishes to thank friends and neighbors for their love and concern; and sincere gratitude to Father Reyes Rodriguez, Sister Julie and the doctors and nursing staff of the Salt Lake City Surgical Intensive Care Unit for their compassionate care for George.
