Jim Carrey looks so sharp in a Rhode Island state police uniform that the force is tempted to offer him a job.
Carrey is in Rhode Island filming a new comedy, "Me, Myself and Irene." He plays a state trooper with two personalities, both in love with the same woman.
The film is by Bobby and Peter Farrelly, the Rhode Island brothers who made "There's Something About Mary" and "Dumb and Dumber." The Farrelly brothers consulted with the state police to make sure Carrey looked authentic. "They did a good job, said Maj. Harold Watson, the No. 2 person on the force. "Their main concern was getting the uniform right," he said.
With his buzz cut, aviator sunglasses and gray uniform, Carrey might get away with asking for your driver's license.
"The haircut is regulation. The glasses look regulation. If he decides to dump his movie career, we'll sign him up," Watson said.

Cole, daughter of the late Nat King Cole, had been warned by doctors to rest her voice for seven to 10 days after a series of performances in Las Vegas. Kool and the Gang, David Sanborn and Nestor Torres are scheduled to perform today at the open-air concert on Pigeon Island in the Caribbean.
REDFORD AND EUROPEANS TEAMING UP FOR NEW FLICKS
Robert Redford's newest moviemaking partners aren't in Hollywood, they're in Europe.
Germany's Kirch media group said Friday that it and Italian media mogul Silvio Berlusconi will cooperate with Redford's Wildwood Enterprises on film development and financing. The European companies will put up money and Redford will direct, act or produce.
Among the projects already planned is a $70 million production of "The Legend of Bagger Vance," Kirch said.
