ST. GEORGE, Utah--Loila Gayle Reese Hansen passed away September 3, 1999 at her home in St. George, Utah.

She was born November 29, 1921, to Charles L. and Georgia Foster Reese in Whitney, Idaho. She was raised in Benson, Utah, graduated with honors from North Cache High School and attended Utah State Agricultural College. She married Howard F. Hansen on September 9, 1941 to whom she is sealed in eternal covenant. Gayle was a loving and devoted wife and mother and was active in the LDS Church, serving throughout her life in executive and teaching capacities. She was a remarkable homemaker and enjoyed entertaining in her home. She had a kind and gracious personality and was greatly loved by her family and many friends. Especially in the last three years of her life she endured many serious health problems without complaint and with an enduring faith which inspired everyone who knew her. Her life was exemplary and an inspiration to her family.She is survived by her husband, Howard F., of St. George and five children: H. Reese (Kathryn) of Provo, Utah, Dr. Val R. (Nita) of Farmington, Utah, Lana (Patrick) Clarke and Annalou (Robert) Fredericks of Omaha, Nebraska, and Jane Lassetter of Bountiful, Utah. She has 23 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are one sister, Fae (Robert) McCann of Logan, Utah, and three brothers, Charles (Sharlene) Reese of Benson, Utah, Clair (Carol) Reese of Salt Lake City, Utah and Cleve (Linda) Reese of Meridian, Idaho.

The family will greet friends at Spilsbury & Beard Mortuary, 110 South Bluff Street, St. George, Utah from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday evening September 5, 1999. Funeral services will be conducted in the LDS Chapel in Newton, Utah at 12 noon on Tuesday, September 7, 1999, with a viewing at the chapel from 10 to 11:30 a.m. preceding the services. Burial will be in the Logan City Cemetery under the direction of Spilsbury & Beard Mortuary, St. George, UT
