Howard Eugene Stevens, 75, husband,

father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away Monday, October 9, 2000 after a lingering illness.

He was born September 5, 1925 in Oakley, Utah to Leland H. and Myrtle Tuttle Stevens, the sixth of nine children. He was a graduate of Evanston, Wyoming High School and during World War II he was in the Marine Corps serving in the South Pacific.

He married Geraldine Rollins on August 23, 1948. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. They are the parents of two girls, who were very dedicated to their father during his illness.

Howard graduated from the U of U, where he was a member of the football and track teams. He was a stockbroker for J. A. Hogle & Co., Goodbody and Merrill Lynch for 17 years. He then became a land developer, with members of his family, at Pine Mountain Inc. in Summit County. He was founder and president of Stevens Skin Softener since 1988, whereupon, he won several awards, including Entrepreneur of the year and the Blue Chip Enterprise Award.

He was active in his church and served faithfully in his High Priest Quorum. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed golf, fishing and hunting. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Howard is survived by his loving wife, Jerri; daughters: Dru Ann (Jeff) Hill and Sherri Stevens all of Salt Lake City; one granddaughter, Heather (Brian) Brimhall of Tucson, Arizona; three brothers: Bill (Donna), Spanish Fork, Don (Paulette), Evanston, Wyoming and Ron (Janice) Salt Lake City; two sisters: Esther (Jim) McGarry, Ogden and Carma (Gil) Pedersen of Salt Lake City. Preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Marge and two brothers: Dick and Tally Stevens.

Services will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2000 at 12 noon at the Mill Creek 1st Ward, 602 E. 39th S., Salt Lake. Friends may call Friday 6-8 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mort-uary, 3401 So. Highland Dr. and at the ward Saturday 10:45-11:45 a.m., prior to services. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
