Genevieve Johnson Van Wagenen, 91, passed away Sept. 28, 2000 in Sandy, Utah.

Born January 11, 1909 to Alfred C. and Josephine Johnson. Married June 6, 1928 in the Salt Lake Temple. With her eternal sweetheart, Clyde L. Van Wag-enen, she created a "Heaven on earth." Six children were added as cherished blessings. When ask-ed how she raised them, she said, "on my knees." Gene-vieve contributed numerous talents and efforts to the building of a happy home, wonderful relationships and a service-centered life.

She will be forever remembered for her Relief Society lessons, published writings, award winning recipes, prized original art, tailor-made clothes and personal touches. She was an example of a supportive Bishop's wife twice, and developed warm friendships throughout her lifetime with her constant smile.

Survived by her six children: Miriam (Carl) McDaniel, Alfred (LuRee) Van Wagenen, Richard (Glenda) Van Wagenen, Michael (Christine) Van Wagenen, Robert (Robin) Van Wagenen, Shauna (Rick) Brown. Also survived by two sisters; Josephine (McKay) Christensen, and Afton Barnes; one brother, Max Johnson; brother-in-law, Robert Hopkin; 30 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Genevieve J. Van Wagenen is truly one in whom the Lord is well pleased. She is preceded in death by sister, Bessie and brother-in-law, Richard Barnes.

The family is grateful to those who provided help or care in any way to our mother.

Funeral services will be held Monday, October 2, 2000 at 11:30 a.m. in the Stratford East Ward chapel, 2605 S. 1500 E., where friends and family may call from 10-11 a.m. prior to the services.

Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park under the direction of Larkin Mortuary.
