Jennifer Jayne, age 22, died of injuries sustained in an auto accident October 24, 2000.
She was born on January 28, 1978 in Provo, Utah, the daughter of Fred Eugene and Paula Murphy Jayne. Jennifer graduated from Jordan High School, Sandy, Utah in 1996 as the Valedictorian. She continued her education at Brigham Young University. She majored in English and minored in music, graduating Magna Cum Laud, April 2000. She was in Women's Chorus, a member of Phi Kappa Phi, and Golden Key. Upon graduation from BYU, Jennifer obtained employment with the Office of the Guardian ad Litem as a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate)where she trained volunteers who worked with abused and neglected children. In addition to her employment, Jennifer had six piano and voice students who she loved dearly. Jennifer was very active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was an accomplished pianist and singer. She had lead parts in musicals at Jordan High School for three years and performed at Promised Valley Playhouse. She took ballet lessons for 13 years.
Her grandparents Paul and Blanche Murphy and her older brother Brian Eugene Jayne preceded Jennifer in death. Her parents and her brother Jeffrey Paul Jayne and her grandparents Fred Elgin and Virgina Faye Jayne of Colorado Springs Colorado as well as Aunts, Uncles and Cousins survive her.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct. 28, 2000 at 11 a.m. at the Flint Drive LDS Chapel (Edgemont Ward, Sandy Central Stake), 9800 S. Flint (1150 E.), Sandy, Utah. Friends may call Friday, Oct. 27, 6-8 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 28, 9:30-10:45 a.m. at the Flint Drive LDS Chapel. Interment will be at the Roosevelt City Cemetery, Roosevelt, Utah.
