Impact fees will add about $1,300 to the cost of building a house if a new ordinance receives City Council approval.
The council will discuss and possibly act on the impact fee ordinance at its regular meeting Wednesday. Most of the increase will go to pay for upgrading the city sewer plant. The water coming out of the plant fails to meet water quality standards before it is dumped into Utah Lake, City Administrator Andy Hall said.
The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 439 W. Utah Ave.

The Utah Baroque Ensemble will commemorate the 250th anniversary of Johann Sebastian Bach's death with a special concert Friday, Nov. 17, at 7:30 p.m. in the Provo Tabernacle.
Bach's "Magnificat" is a musical setting of biblical text for six soloists, full choir, and chamber orchestra. When Bach died, he left a vast collection of choral compositions. The Magnificat is a group of these selections that includes four extra sections for performances at Christmastime. The words come from St. Luke in the Bible and other texts.
Tickets are $6 general admission and $4 for seniors and students and may be purchased at the door.
Springville
City officials say they hope to have a new city administrator hired by the middle of December.
The city is accepting applications for the position that was vacated in September. Cameron Gunter resigned a couple of days after Mayor Hal Wing resigned.
As of Wednesday, the city had received 37 applications. The position could be filled by an appointment from Mayor Fritz Boyer. However, department heads and the City Council will participate in a process of reviewing the candidates and selecting finalists for the position.
City Attorney Troy Fitzgerald is acting as interim city administrator until the post is filled.
