Janice Clark Jensen died Mar. 15, 2000 in Salt Lake City, of causes incident to cancer.
She was born July 30, 1921 in Salt Lake City to Dr. Thomas E. Clark and Charlotte Parry Clark.She is survived by four sons: Lee Gregersen Jensen (Pia); Thomas Christian Jensen (Marsha); Peter Jonathan Jensen (Virginia); Alan Clark Jensen (Kendra); 23 grand-children; 13 great grandchildren, and the following sisters and brother: Kathryn Mumford (Frank); Gwen Nielsen (Lars /deceased); Carol Dunford (Robert/deceased); Charlotte Cundick (Robert); Thomas H. Clark; and 19 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Richard David Jensen.
She received her B.A. and M.A. from California State University at San Francisco, and taught at Belmont Intermediate School in California for 22 years. While teaching, she earned a PhD. from the University of Utah, and a Juris Doctorate from Golden Gate, San Francisco, CA. She practiced law in Sacramento, California in partnership with her son Peter for 13 years before retiring and returning to Salt Lake City. She was an active and devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, holding various positions in the Sunday School and the Relief Society organizations.
Her funeral service will be held Monday, March 20, 2000 at 12 noon at the Grandview Ward, 2930 South 2000 East. Friends may call Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Lawn, 2350 East 1300 South, and at the Ward Monday 10:45-11:45 a.m. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens, Sandy, Utah.
