OREM-- Stanley Robert Ferguson, 71, died March 19, 2000, at his home in Orem.

He was born May 27, 1928, a son of Leo Frank and Darlene Bates Ferguson in Provo, Utah. He married Carma Anita Thomas August 17, 1957, in Leland, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized March 19, 1969, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.Stan was a member of the Orem 1st Ward. He was a member of the Steel-workers Union. He was involved in Orem youth baseball for many years. Served in the armed forces during the Korean War. He was a marshal at the Spanish Oaks Golf Course. He worked for the Forest Service ten years after retiring from US Steel.

Survivors include his wife, Carma Ferguson; his children, Kent R. Ferguson, S. Tom Ferguson, Nikki Ferguson Brown, and Linda (Randall) Denter; grandchildren, Breanna, Austin, Leah, and Noah Denter and Samantha Brown. He is also survived by five brothers and two sisters, Leo Ferguson of Grand Junction, CO; Clifford Ferguson, Richard Ferguson both of Orem; Verl Ferguson of West Valley City; Don Ferguson of Ferron; Doreen McClure of Nevada; and Betty Anderson of Beaver. Preceded in death by a sister, Hazel.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 22, 2000, at 11 a.m. in the Orem Stake Center, 80 South 260 East in Orem. Friends may call Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State St. in Orem and also Wednesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the stake center. Interment will be in the Orem City Cemetery.
