I-15 lanes restricted, Lagoon to Layton
Motorists will encounter lane restrictions on I-15 between Lagoon and Layton between 6:30 a.m. and 8 p.m. today and Sunday.Also, the Kaysville offramp, No. 331, will be closed from 8 p.m. Saturday to 6 a.m. Sunday, and northbound I-15 will be restricted to one lane.
On Monday, Shepard Lane over I-15 is scheduled to close to complete bridge work. This closure will be in effect for approximately 6-8 weeks.
Man's suit against his bishop dismissed
PROVO -- An Orem man's small claims lawsuit against his LDS bishop over unpaid mortgage payments was dismissed Friday when he failed to show up in court.
Sherwin Koyle sued his bishop after learning that he was four months behind in mortgage payments that he believed were being paid by his bishop from the welfare fund of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
In his small claims suit, Koyle says his bishop had paid his mortgage for about a year, but failed to notify him when leaders of his ward stopped making the payments. Koyle was suing for about $3,000 that he claimed he had to borrow to get his home out of foreclosure.
Koyle asked the small claims court judge to continue his case until he could find an attorney to help him. However, the judge dismissed the case and said Koyle will have 10 days to appeal the decision.
Motorcyclist listed in serious condition
TOOELE -- A motorcyclist who was missing overnight Thursday near Hasting's Pass in the Cedar Mountains was listed in serious but stable condition late Friday night.
Family members of Peter Osuchowski of Sandy notified authorities at 6 a.m. Friday morning that Osuchowski, who was expected home at 7 p.m. on Thursday, was missing. Tooele County Sheriff Frank Scharmann said authorities found the man's truck along the frontage road near Delle, and located him eight miles from the parking lot at about 2 p.m. Friday.
