EDMONTON, Alberta — Torii Hunter was 4-for-5 with a grand slam and six RBIs as the Salt Lake Buzz defeated the Edmonton Trappers 12-5 in Pacific Coast League action Sunday.

Salt Lake exploded with seven runs in the eighth. With the score tied 5-5, Hunter hit a grand slam off Eric Weaver.

The Buzz opened the scoring in the first. John Barnes drew a leadoff walk off Shawn Boskie and later scored on a sacrifice fly by Brian Buchanan.

The Buzz extended the lead to 2-0 in the fourth as Hunter singled and later scored on a throwing error by right-fielder Nate Murphy.

Hunter put Salt Lake up by four runs with a two-run double in the fifth.

Buzz starter Bryan Wolff didn't allow a hit through the first five innings. Keith Luuloa broke up the no-hitter with a single to lead off the sixth. Juan Tolentino followed with a double and Justin Baughman scored Luuloa with a sacrifice fly. Edmonton narrowed the gap to two runs as Tolentino scored on a groundout by Dwayne Hosey.

The Trappers knocked Wolff out of the game in the seventh.

Mike Stoner led off with a single to extend his hitting streak to eight games. Wolff was removed after allowing a double to Keith Johnson.

Jack Cressend came on and surrendered a two-run double to Scott Morgan that scored Stoner and Johnson, tying the game 4-4. Morgan then scored the go-ahead run as Luuloa grounded into a double-play.

The Buzz open a four-game series in Calgary on Monday.
