Gwendolen Mary Gittins died in Salt Lake City, Utah on 26 September, 2000.
She was born in London, England on 22 April, 1923, the daughter of Richard P. Ellis and Agnes Lucas Ellis. Married Alvin L. Gittins in London, 10 October 1945; came to the United States in January 1946.
She received a BA and an MA in English from the University of Utah.
She is survived by her son and daughters-in-law, Jonathan and Eileen Gittins, San Rafael, CA.; Barbara Gittins, Baltimore, MD.; and by her daughter, Sarah Gittins, Houston, TX.; and by her grandchildren, Daniel Gittins and Emily Eliza QiuBo Gittins. She was preceded in death by her sister, Margaret June Ellis and her sons, Simon Clive Gittins and Christopher Chance Gittins.
