Actress Courtney Thorne-Smith's six-month marriage to genetic scientist Andrew Conrad is on the rocks.

The former star of "Melrose Place" and "Ally McBeal" and Conrad, 36, will remain friends but they are no longer a couple, she said in a statement. They were married June 2 during a small Hawaii ceremony and reception.

"Andy and I have made a mutual decision to separate," said Thorne-Smith, 32. "There are no third parties involved."
