Max Leroy Phillips, 74, passed away Friday December 14, 2001 in Beaver, Utah.

He was born Dec 18, 1926 in Farmington, UT to Ardelle W. and Barbara Ellen Phillips. Max graduated from Davis High School and went on to receive his Bach-elors of Arts degree in Agrono-my. Max was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving a mission in the Central Atlantic States and then served in the Army of Occupation in Italy at the end of World War II. He worked for the Soil Conservation Services for thirty four years. Max was an active member of his church and served in many callings including singing in the ward choir. He enjoyed gardening and liked sharing the bounty of his harvest with others.

Survived by his wife, Barbara, Beaver; daughter, Barbara Susanne (Dan) Carner, Roosevelt, UT; sons, Douglas Max (Silvana) Phillips, Roosevelt, UT, Dennis Ray (Teresa) Phillips, Nicholson, GA, Don Leslie (Sheri) Phillips, Salt Lake City, UT; 24 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be Thurs. Dec 20, 2001, Kaysville LDS 15th Ward Chapel, 555 N. 100 E. (Fairfield Rd), 1 p.m. Friends may call Mon. Dec 17, Southern Utah Mortuary, Beaver, UT 6-8 p.m. and Thurs. Dec 20, at the church 11 a.m.-12:45 p.m. Interment, Farmington City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Beaver Valley Hospital.
