ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — A man accused of egging on two teenagers as he videotaped them shooting paintballs at Alaska Natives has been charged with misdemeanor assault.

Prosecutors say Charles Deane Wiseman, 20, didn't fire any of the marble-size paintballs during the Jan. 14 attacks in downtown Anchorage. But he encouraged the two 17-year-olds and helped lure the victims closer to the car the three were in, said Assistant District Attorney John Novak.

None of the victims was seriously injured. Police have said at least a dozen people were hit.

Wiseman pleaded not guilty to seven misdemeanor counts Tuesday and was released on his own recognizance. The two teenagers, one of them Wiseman's brother, face proceedings in juvenile court.
