NEW YORK (AP) — A man wanted in a series of cross-country crimes was killed during a wild shootout with an FBI agent and other law enforcers Friday in the lobby of a Times Square hotel.
Maghfoor Mansoor, 35, was shot at the Hampshire Hotel and Suites after being confronted by members of a joint task force of New York detectives, FBI agents and U.S. marshals, Assistant FBI Director Barry Mawn said.
Mansoor was shot twice in the stomach and was taken to St. Vincent's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. No officers were seriously injured.
