Dorothy Behle, 93, died Friday August 10, 2001 in Salt Lake City, of natural causes.

She was born Oct. 17, 1907 in Duanesburg, NY to Raymond L. and Margaret Biel Davis. The family moved to Bingham, UT and then Salt Lake City where Doro-thy attended the Oquirrh, Bryant Junior High, East High Schools, and the University of Utah. After various positions with Sears, Union Pacific (in Pocatello, ID), Pacific Finance and Continental Bank, she married William H. Behle July 11, 1934. They resided in Berkeley, CA until July 1937 when her husband received his Ph.D., and they returned to Salt Lake when he joined the teaching staff of the University of Utah Department of Biology. Dorothy was active for many years in the Biology Department's "faculty wives" group as well as the University Faculty Wo-men's Club.

She was a long-time member of the Altar Society at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish. She was an early member of Meynell Club and for many years belonged to a sewing club at Holy Cross Hospital making layettes, etc., an effort that shifted to making bandages during World War II. She was also an active Volunteer at Holy Cross Hospital with the Pink Ladies for many years.

Survived by her husband; two sons, Howard (Kerby), San Rafael, CA, Raymond (Susan), Salt Lake City; one brother, Paul R. Davis (Margie); six grandchildren; and four great-grand-children. Preceded in death by a brother, Bruce R. Davis; and a grand-son, Michael.

A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Mon. Aug 13, 2001, 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 670 S. 1100 E. A private family committal will be at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Directors, Neil O'Donnell and Sons Mortuary.
