Ginger Petersen, age 39, of Salt Lake City, UT, passed away at her home on Friday, August 17, 2001 in Salt Lake City. UT. after a long, courageous fight with breast cancer.

Ginger was born March 30, 1962 in Rupert, ID to LaMonte and Lauralee Robbins Herbold. She grew up and went to high school in Caldwell, ID and later moved to Salt Lake City in 1980 to ski and attend the University of Utah.

She graduated with a B.S. in Geology and worked as a geologist/ hydrologist before taking a job as a full time mother.

On July 07, 1990, she married Barry Petersen and together they had two children named Zoe and Cade.

Ginger loved the outdoors and found joy in skiing, rock climbing, camping, rafting and gardening. She was a fun loving, free spirit who had a quick smile and a warm hug for everyone she met. She had the gift of making people feel comfortable and accepted from the first time they met. She had written that she wanted to be remembered as "cheerful, ambitious, understanding and friendly" and she was all of these and more. The world will be a lonelier place without her.
