- Ralph Price Sr., 85, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfath-er, brother, and friend, peacefully passed away at home, surrounded by family mem-bers and his dear wife, Ruby Jewell, into the arms of our Heavenly Fa-ther, Friday morning, August 3, 2001.

Mr. Ralph Price was born to Mr. Elam Sr. and Mrs. Fleta (Henson) Price in Glory, TX. He was one of thirteen siblings. Ralph was educated in the Texas Public School system, graduating from high school and Weber College in Utah. Ralph was drafted into the United States Army Air Force in World War II and Honorably Discharged at the end of the conflict.

A disabled Veteran, Ralph was employed at Hill Field as a Master Mechanic. After receiving a medical retirement from Hill Air Force Base, Ralph was hired as a mechanic for Layton City. He worked for many years for Herman's Sporting Goods, and also was a member of the pit crew for the Mormon Meteor.

Ralph united with Ruby Jewell (Timms) Price, more than fifty years ago, and to this union one son and five daughters were born.

He was preceded in death by his parents; eight brothers; four sisters; and one daughter, Jesse Ruth.

Ralph served as president of the Federal Retired Employees in the Layton area, and state president of Disabled Veterans for several years. He was a founder/member of The First Baptist Community Church of Layton and Church of God in Christ (Hill Air Force Base, Layton).

Ralph is survived by his loving wife, Ruby, Layton; one son, Ralph Price Jr., UT; four daughters, Marqueax Price-Black, Dallas, TX, DeAne R. Price, Ogden, Deon R. Price, Layton, DeVon Price-Kpeji, Ogden; one grandchild; two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ruby (Price) Pennington, Albuquerque, NM.

Services will be Sat. Aug 11, 2001, 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd, with Rev. Willie Martin III officiating. Viewing will be one hour prior to services. Interment, Lindquist's Memorial Park, Layton. E-mail condolences to the family at: llm@lindquistmortuary.com
